However, there have been statements coming from actual members of the Kray family and those who have known the twins and the people close to them whose lives were featured on the film that some details were inaccurate. During the 50’s and the 60’s, these twins terrorised the streets of London and following their life on film can actually be interesting.
Without spilling much of the story which you would most likely already know if you’ve watched films and shows made about the Kray twins before or if you’ve read any of the books or documentations about them, the movie focuses primarily on the life of Reggie Kray as he tries to help his twin brother Ronald Kray in controlling his psychotic tendencies.
Distributed by Universal Pictures, the movie was released in the UK on September 9 and will show in the US on October 2.
Aside from Tom Hardy, other actors who appeared on the film include Emily Browning, David Thewlis, Duffy, Christopher Eccleston and ChazzPalminteri. This movie is directed by Brian Helgeland, his fifth feature film. If you like gangster movies and those with exciting plotlines and thrilling action, then you’d probably appreciate this movie. The film was based on how the lives of the Kray twins were lived according to the book The Profession of Violence: The Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins. The movie is based on the life of these East End English gangsters who became leaders of organised crime in the 50’s and the 60’s. Tom Hardy plays both roles of the twins Reginald and Ronald Kray. Legend, which has been released this year, was a good one though it could be a whole lot better.
It gets even more exciting when great actors and an acclaimed director are working on the movie. When a movie is based on a true story, especially if it is a crime thriller, it is always something to look forward to.
